Umhlanga & Umdloti
Umdloti is a laid-back beach village between Umhlanga and Ballito, with a large natural tidal pool protected by a reef and watched by lifeguards. Restaurants and cafes line the road opposite the sand, and the coastline here is known for regular dolphin sightings, especially during the winter sardine run.
Insider tip: Arrive before 9am on summer weekends and school holidays, as parking along the beachfront fills up quickly.
