Umhlanga's grande dame sits right beside the red-and-white lighthouse, and you do not need to be a hotel guest to enjoy it. The Ocean Terrace is famous for its curry buffet, the Palm Court serves a classic high tea, and the Lighthouse Bar is a lovely spot for a drink with sea views.
Insider tip: Book the curry buffet or high tea a few days ahead in season, and arrive early to get a table on the terrace facing the lighthouse.
