The open splendour of this ocean front vacation home is sensational, making every aspect of guests dreams a reality! Best suited for families seeking a unique holiday experience filled with fun and sea on Kwa-Zulu Natal's magical North Coast!


A further 6 guests can be accommodated in the villa's rear home. Completely separate,  it has its own garden and hot tub.

Property Description


Guests enter an expansive,  open concept living space boasting ocean views every which way you look! The Villa caters for 8 adults and 2 children, with 4 of the bedrooms being ensuite. Please note that reservations which fall outside this policy require the owner's express approval for any increased number of adult guests.


A central courtyard forms the heart of this magnificent home, with the kitchen, lounge, pub, cinema room, ground floor Master Bedroom Suite and patios all leading off from this space. The home tucks in eight adults and two children with a ten seater dining table for intimate meals over candlelight, and provides another gorgeous seating area before opening onto a covered garden terrace with patio furniture to enjoy a quiet moment shaded from the sun.


The kitchen is an entertainer's dream! Fitted with a six plate gas stove and electric oven, microwave, two fridges, coffee machine and all necessary appliances, it opens into the spacious living room over a cosy butcher-block bar counter.


Glass stacking doors open the lounge onto a covered balcony with a dining table and benches to enjoy outdoor meals overlooking spellbinding views of Sheffield Beach's Christmas Bay.


Back inside, a cinema room makes rainy day entertainment a dream. A guest half bathroom is conveniently situated next to space. The lower level also houses a ground floor Master Bedroom Suite with ensuite Master Bathroom.


Stairs leading down from the courtyard reveal a cosy pub, fully fitted with an illuminated dart board for those late night challenges, and a pool table where guests can showcase their skills whilst competing for the trophy of  'Holiday Master!' The pub opens onto a patio with a built-in, wood burning pizza oven. What's a Tuscan-style villa without Italian cuisine on demand right?!


A grand staircase leads to the second story of this statement home. A pyjama lounge at the head of the landing provides ample seating with books and games for a spot of family entertainment before bed. Glass doors open the space onto another covered verandah boasting breathtaking views of the North Coast's warm Indian Ocean.


Three  private bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, and a single room with bunk beds all lead from this space. The second floor Master Bedroom Suite has its own covered balcony with patio furniture for guests to enjoy morning cups of their favourite brew coffee whilst admiring the view and relishing in the salty sea breeze or afternoon drinks drenched in magnificent sea views as far as the eye can see.

Other Details to Note


Guests have unlimited access to complimentary WIFI. There are various feeds throughout the large area of the home. The different extenders are easily identified using the home’s location and all share the same password.


The home is “lightly” serviced throughout the duration of your stay, and on Saturdays. Please note that this excludes Sundays and South African Public Holidays where services can be arranged at an additional fee. Guests requiring hands on support throughout the duration of their visit are asked to reach out in order for the necessary arrangements to be made at a nominal additional fee of R350 per day.


This home is run on a prepaid electricity meter. Each stay longer than 3 days is provided with 200 units of electricity. Any usage thereafter is for the guest's account. The electricity meter number will be provided for your perusal. 


Guests can arrange laundry services with Salt Rock Laundromat, Shop 10 Salt Rock Shop Ctr, Salt Rock, Umhlali, 4391.


The kitchen is fully equipped with a range of glassware, crockery, cutlery, cookware and cooking utensils.


Kindly note that there is another 3 bedroom self contained home adjacent to the property, and attached to the rear of the villa via a walkway. It has a hot tub and spa bath, and may be occupied by the owner from time to time. This said, guest privacy and comfort is always ensured. Please reach out should you wish to secure availability of the second home at an additional cost. The hot tub is accessible to guests depending on availability in the second home which takes preference on usage due to the hot tub's location on its balcony. 


While this home is completely private, on occassion, the owner frequents the second home attached to the rear of the property for their own personal use and may have his two pet dogs with him. 


Please note that this is an eco friendly home. Guests who are permitted to use the jacuzzi are urged to switch off it off when it's not in use due to its exorbitant electricity consumption.


The cinema and pub/snooker room both have smart TVs which are connected to the WiFi and available for streaming purposes. 


Guests can also watch DSTV on both of these TVs but need to please select their preferred channel using the lounge TV which controls the DSTV channel selection in both areas. 


There are honesty bars with a selection of different wines in various areas of the home. Guests are welcome to help themselves and let our house keeper know so that payment can be made accordingly. Kindly note that all bottles are checked upon guests departure and any empty/missing bottle counts will be billed for the guest account. 


While vervet monkeys sporadically visit the area, they are gentle and generally don’t pose a nuisance. This said, if food is visible and the home’s windows/doors are open while they are around with nobody present, they may chance taking it but are easily shooed away. 


There are two wonderful beach access routes to the left and right of the villa. You will see the roadside parking approximately 180 m before approaching the home on the right hand side of the road, and another roadside parking area approximately 180m past your vacation home on the right hand side of the road. We encourage our guests to use the second access point as it has less stairs and they are not as steep making the walkway more manageable to climb. It also offers gorgeous views of the beaches below. 


While we have never experienced nor have any concerns around any security related issues, guests’ safety is our foremost priority. The property is manned by an armed response security provider who is positioned on Colwyn Drive, in very close proximity to the home.


All reservations are subject to the terms and conditions outlined therein. A Holiday Rental Agreement will be presented upon arrival for review and signature.
